Oh!
I reaaaalllly need to start updating this more! Ive been working on so many new things! Here are a few little dudes to start out with :-}
These first two are small spots illustrations for my editorial class! They were supposed to be readable when printed at 1in x 2in, so I kept them super simple. I had a lot of fun designing these cute little ladies!

This third piece is actually about a year old now, but it took me forever to scan it in. It was based off of a fortune; "Love is for the lucky and the brave." Definitely one of my favorite pieces still!
More to come super soon this time, I swear!

PASCAL CAMPION
Pascal Campion is probably my new favorite illustrator. His simple style, and his colors and use of light is stunning. All of his illustrations are of him and his family, looking at his illustrations is like looking at a sort of diary into his life. I am channeling his style into my ipad 2 project for my image making 2 class, I cant wait to start it!

Art Nouveau is one of my favorite art movements, and Alphonse Mucha is like the epitome of the style. I love almost all of his pieces, but the two here are ones I find particularly inspiring because of their lush color and altogether elegance. His pieces are like beautiful waves of design and loveliness, your eye just flows through the piece, finding hidden details that make them even more enjoyable.

DON KENN

Don.Kenn.is.awesome. And all this series of his work (which is quite large) is all on post it notes! dang! His illustrations remind me a lot of Edward Gorey, whom I am also a giant fan of. Ive always enjoyed charcters that had a creepy, mysterious quility to them, which Kenn encapsulate completely.I am in love with all of his characters, although my particular favorite is probably his ghoulish creatures with the antlers.

PATRICIO BETTEO
Patricio Betteo is a Mexican illustrator I have just found and immediately fell for. His works are tradigital, he takes his drawings/paintings into photoshop and goes haywire with it. His results are lovely, fun, almost cubist works that are fun to look at. I also love his use of textures and colors in the second piece especially.Wednesday, February 16, 2011

RICK LEONG
Looking at Rick Leong's paintings and drawings is like looking into a whimsical dream world of wonderfulness. Many of his paintings explore the use of a curved, often tangled line that captures you and further brings you in and around his pieces. The top tree piece is a particular favorite of mine because of its dream-like quality and how the colors seem to meld together.Saturday, February 12, 2011
ah! finally here are a few of my more recent pieces. The first I did for my brother, the second was for my illustration techniques class last semester. I know, the picture quality is pretty awful because I only have a cheapo digital camera, but I'm planning on having them more professionally done soon! Cheers!
